Who are we?

Bringing the Strange to the Stage

Stage Fright Theater Co. began with a passion for all things spooky. What started as a modest backyard haunt soon grew into something more—when we introduced a live variety show to entertain guests waiting in line, the response was electric. The crowd loved it, and we discovered our true calling: creating thrilling live performances that heighten the Halloween experience.

Today, we specialize in crafting immersive stage shows and interactive entertainment for haunted attractions, scream parks, and seasonal events across the country. From eerie storytelling to bone-chilling comedy, our shows are designed to captivate, surprise, and delight audiences of all ages.

Whether you’re running a haunted house, hosting a Halloween festival, or looking to enhance your spooky experience, Stage Fright Theater Co. is here to make your event unforgettable.

Our History

2013

Humble Beginnings

Although not officially founded until 2020, Stage Fright Theater Co can trace our origin to a home haunt created by local artists in Anaheim, CA. The haunted maze attraction included custom costumes, handmade props, hand painted sets, and  an original storyline with unique characters

2014

More Than Just a Maze

Cobbs’ Carnival of Dreams began with a backyard maze but the event grew year after year, adding games, shows, and original multimedia entertainment in the front yard for those waiting to enter the Haunted Midway walkthrough attraction in the back. All of which was provided at no cost to the community.

2015-2017

Instant Classic

The popularity of the event grew and grew, until the home setting could no longer accommodate the crowds.

OS 3.3

2018

Anaheim Fall Festival

In 2018 the Carnival partnered with the Anaheim Fall Festival, bringing the maze to the community as an attraction at the event.

Adding Variety

A family friendly variety show featuring an assortment of different acts was added as a way to entice people into the carnival-themed maze.

The Cobb Siblings

The new variety show was emceed by Carlisle and Cyrus, two of the three Cobb siblings. Cornelius, the eldest, could be found in the Haunted Midway maze.

2019

Traveling Circus

The following year, the Cobbs went on the road, performing the variety show at Midsummer Scream 2019.

Immersive Theater

The Cobbs and their stable of acts also performed at the Anaheim Fall Festival again. This time the midway attraction became an interactive show set in a circus-themed village of performers.

2020

A New Beginning

In 2020, as the world shut down, the Cobbs found themselves without a place to perform. During this downtime, the artists and producers brainstormed ideas that went beyond the Carnival. As a result, Stage Fright Theater Co. was created so that a variety of Halloween-based shows and attractions could be developed.

A Different Kind of Scare

This period gave birth to the concept of a new interactive show based around an intrusive data company, known as Bexley Fear Labs.

From Stage to Screen

It also led to the creation and development of the Web series “Haunted,” a workplace mockumentary in the tradition of The Office, Parks & Recreation, or Abbott Elementary, that takes place at an Orange County theme park’s annual Halloween haunt event.

2022

The Cobbs Are Back

In 2022, the Cobbs’ variety show rose from the grave with a fresh new twist—taking the stage once again at Midsummer Scream and HorrorCon LA. This reimagined production brought together a cast of classic monsters, all grappling with a hilarious new reality: they’re just not scary anymore. With frights behind them and showbiz ahead, these misunderstood icons turned to song, dance, and comedy in a spirited attempt to reclaim the spotlight.

2023 - 2025

Encore

The Cobbs’ outrageously funny new variety show—starring classic Halloween monsters with a flair for the dramatic—was such a hit, they were invited back to Midsummer Scream and HorrorCon LA in 2023. Each performance upped the ante with all-new acts, fresh characters, and even bigger laughs.

In 2024, the Cobbs were invited to perform their variety show in front of the historic Ford House during the Spooky Swap Meet at Heritage Square Park in Los Angeles. This outdoor event also marked the debut of a brand-new experience: Carlisle Cobb’s Super-Awesome Halloween Dance Party. Like the original Cobb show, it featured classic monsters—only this time, the audience was invited to join the fun and dance along.

That same year, The Carnival of Dreams made its return to Midsummer Scream and made its debut at Scary Tales and Mini Golf in Riverside.

In 2025 the Carnival of Dreams once again took over the Ford House at Spooky Swap Meet. The variety show and Carlisle’s Dance Party returned.  In addition an all-new interactive experience featuring a living fortune-teller machine entertained guests.
