What We're Looking For
Variety Shows, Interactive Character Experiences, Film... We Do It All!
If you do crew of any variety, costumes, makeup, sound and lighting, please drop us a line. We always need crew.
Film productions usually take place in the offseason (January – July). We always need crew and actors for various projects. We also need scare actors and sliders for our webseries “Haunted.”
The bulk of our casting oportunities are for our variety show, Cobbs’ Carnival of Dreams. This is a traveling show that we stage at several Halloween events throughout the year. The show has 3 emcees (scripted acting) as well as 3-4 acts that are showcased. For the acts we are often looking for:
- Actors
- Singers
- Musicians
- Jugglers
- Comedians
- Dancers
- Gymnasts
- Rappers
- Magicians
- And More!
Audition Process
Send us a video. It's that easy.
Those auditioning for the variety show Cobbs’ Carnival of Dreams should be prepared to send us a 2-3 minute audition video. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy (on your phone is fine). We’re just trying to get a sense of how you’ll best fit into the show.
If you are auditioning for an acting role, please send us a video sample of your previous work, or a 1-3 minute comedic monologue.
If auditioning to be one of the featured acts please send us a video showing us your special talent (dancing, singing, stand-up, etc.)
If you are auditioning for crew or a film project, please just send us a message detailing your experience.
Low Commitment
Performers are able to pick the shows that work with their schedule, and skip the ones that don't. Most rehearsals are virtual, and the few in-person rehearsals are structured so we don't waste your time.
Pro-Diversity
Don't be afraid to audition. Stage Fright Theater is committed to creating an environment that welcomes diversity. Casting is open to all ages, genders, races, creeds, sexual orientations, abilities, and sizes.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Anyone under 18 must have a release form signed by their parent or guardian. Otherwise, no. We’ve worked with actors all across the age spectrum.
There can be depending upon the project. If it’s a show we’ve been hired to perform, the producers share profits with performers. Most shows performed at conventions and events are performed at a loss. In those cases cast and crew are not paid. Compensation will be in the form of passes to the event. Depending on the event, that can be fairly valuable.
No. We provide costumes, makeup, and props for all shows. If you have a costume you’d like to wear, that’s okay too. You just need to clear it with the director.
Unless all roles are filled, you can pick and choose which events you want to perform at, and skip the ones you don’t. However, if you commit to performing at an event, you must be available for all the days the event takes place.
